SHIPPING NOTES.

Two steamers of the 'Currie' line, Namely, the Itonus and the Darius, entered an appearance in Hobson's Bay
yesterday (says a Melbourne paper of May 19). The former vessel, which is the latest addition to the fleet, berthed at Williamstown to take in cargo for South African ports. She is a majestic looking liner, and considerably larger than any of her consorts. Since she was bought by Messrs. Archd. Currie and Co. the Itonus has been employed In the South African trade, with satisfactory results. Passengers speak highly of her, and, with Captain Colin Macdonald, 'commodore' of the line, in charge, nothing will be spared to promote the welfare of traders. The Darius berthed at Port Melbourne. She Is en route to Calcutta.
